BILL CLINTON, speech at Campus Progress National Student Conference, July 13, 2005

HUMOROUS WILLIAM J. CLINTON QUOTES

1.)"Being president is like running a cemetery: you've got a lot of people under you and nobody's listening." –Bill Clinton

2.) "The economy has produced 6.1 million jobs since I became president, and if Michael Jordan comes back to the Bulls, it will be 6,100,001 jobs." –Bill Clinton, in 1995

                            T. BERRY BRAZELTON
1)"I think the more stressed parents are, the more they need modeling opportunities, to model on somebody who knows how to handle a baby, to talk to a baby, to play with a baby. [Then] a parent feels, hey, I know what I'm doing. We're seeing that she really has the passion, she just needs the support to bring it back to the surface."
   T. Berry Brazelton, M.D., Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics, Harvard Medical SChool

2.) "Every time you give a parent a sense of success or of empowerment, you're offering it to the baby indirectly. Because every time a parent looks at that baby and says 'Oh, you're so wonderful,' that baby just bursts with feeling good about themselves."
- T. Berry Brazelton, M.D., Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics, Harvard Medical School.

                *The Foundation*
My Granddaddy… My Granddaddy was my biggest supporter aside from my mother that I ever had. I could do no wrong in my granddaddy eyes. Watching my granddaddy work hard and come home and still manage to be active in our live was so awesome. He would come home and play in the yard or fix our bikes and my favorite of them all we would take walks around the block JUST THE TWO OF US. When I was in the 5th grade my granddaddy had a stroke which left him paralyzed from the waist down and on his left side. From that day he gave me a new nick name (Nurse) being paralyzed made my granddaddy very emotional because he was use to being that hard working man providing for his family. I always made sure he new that he was still my hero. The summer before my 7th grade year my granddaddy passed away I was so devastating but even in my time of sorrow I’ll never forget the memories of my hero.

                                                                                     *The Provider*

My Ma’am……..My mother is the oldest of 4, three girls and one boy. My mother had to grow up before her time, at the early age of 12 her mother passed away of a house fire that had everyone trapped inside as my grandfather and grandmother was quickly getting there children out the house my grandmother went in for the last time to rescue my aunt the youngest of the four. My grandmother died later that night of smoke inhalation. From that moment my mother had to grow up fast, with the help of her daddy she help raised her younger siblings. Determined, Focused, Loving, Strong, and Outspoken would be just a few words to describe my mother. I would not trade her in for nothing in the world. My father wasn’t around when I was growing up but that never stopped my mother from making sure my sister and I had the things we wanted and needed. I never missed a cheer camp, band trip or any other extracurricular function at school. Holding down two jobs and raising two girls a year apart showing love and proving a strong foundation describes my mother.
* The Realist*
My Aunts……Beverly Harris (Decease) & Renise Harris are and were the best aunts that anyone could ever ask for. My auntie Beverly always had the best snacks in the hole world, at least that what I use to think.  Auntie Beverly was the rebel out of the four kids, she didn’t finish high school, did her share of drugs and smoked cigarettes all of my life which ended up causing her to loose her life. But while on earth she always made sure I knew she loved me encouraging me to finish school and make good grades, telling and showing me about the dangers of drug abuse. Up until the day she died she was one of the greatest aunts I ever knew. My other Aunt was Auntie Nee-Nee she’s the youngest out of the four siblings. My aunt was my first babysitter we spent a lot of time together we use to have talks about my behavior and attitude my aunt use to tell me that whenever you are out in public there’s always someone watching me; and my behavior and attitude reflects what my family is trying to teach me. To this very day my Auntie Nee- Nee and I are still very close.

*The Father Figure*
MY Uncle…..Uncle Ray was a real character after my grandfather died he was the only man in my life. He talked to me about boys and what they wanted from girls and even what boys are thinking when girls dress a certain way. My Uncle had two kids during my childhood and would carry them everywhere he went (that was appropriate for children) he would always make sure they new he loved them along with my sister and I. Even though my father wasn’t around my uncle made sure I never missed a fatherly beat.

CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

!! GREAT TIMES!!

This picture always makes me smile. This picture was taken when I was a little girl my mother took my sister and I to Florida for our family vacation one summer. My mother was a single parent raising two girls one year apart, were not the richest people in our neighborhood but my mother always made sure our summer vacations were the highlights of our summer. Being the youngest of the two of us I still remember the Great  Times we had on that trip and have to remind my sister of some of the things we did while in Florida.

MY FAVORITE QUOTE

    QUOTE
“You Learn Something New Everyday”
                                                 Unknown Author..

This Quote is extremely true; each and everyday of our lives we go through situations or try and help people with different problems that they may have in there live, but through it all no mater what the outcome was we can honestly say we learned something from that situation or problem. The same thing goes for our children. Once they have entered into my classroom it is my duty to try my best to get each and every student to learn something new everyday, whether it’s covering your mouth when you talk or learning your alphabets and number. Each child can pick up on something to help them in being a successful learner.

Day 1...The Beginning

Love is often defined as a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. I have always believed that teachers should have a profoundly tender, passionate affection for their students. It is often stated that love starts at home but if that doesn't happen it is my hope that our children will come into our classrooms and get the Love they need.
